What is the best cruise line that leaves from Seattle and tours Alaska?

Question by Sweet P: What is the best cruise line that leaves from Seattle and tours Alaska?
I am looking for a cruise to take my son and daughter on, ages 14 and 17. They want to sea Alaska, and I would like to leave from Seattle, because it is in the US. I am wondering what the best cruise line is, that has fun activities such as Kayaking. The trip will be at the beginning of August, so I need to book fast!

  1. At this late date I don’t know if you can find a cabin. If you do all lines offer many different things while most will visit the same ports of call. I have sailed with Norwegian & Princess to Alaska and was completely happy with both lines. Plenty of activities both on the ship & plenty of excursions to choose from. Becauses of security reasons I doubt you will be beable to go. Try calling 1-800-Princess & see what they say.
It is an AMAZING cruise. To really see Alaska for both you & your kids a cruisetour is best with Princess but, they either leave out of or end in Vancouver.
    Good Luck.

  2. I took Princess. It was FABULOUS! That is a great cruise!! You guys will have so much fun!! There will be lots of activities you can sign up for but don’t wait because they go fast. Do all the wildlife things–they’re amazing!

  3. Holland America, although not necessarily for teens. Princess would probably be better for them.

And it may be too late to book for August. The Alaska cruises fill up fast, due to the short season. Early August – you may already be too late to meet the security clearance requirements.
