Question by brookeleis: How do I get people to understand that Alaska is part of Canada, not the United States?
People don’t believe that Alaska is part of Canada. Maybe by saying ok, look at the globe and look at where the land of Alaska is connected to. So Alaska is part of Canada, not the US.
LOOK AT THE GLOBE, DUH!!!
Alaska is the farthest state on the northwest side of Canada.

in Australia we know that Canada / the USA government purchased Alaska from Russia

Alaska become a United States state in 1959, along with Hawaii. Though it is geographically connected to Canada it has no connection whatsoever to the Canadian government.

hmm, i’ve looked at the globe and let’s see. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Washington states are connected to Canada by land, Ohio and Pennsylvania share a water border (in Lake Erie) with Canada, and you can get to Canada by boat from Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois.
and there are other entire countries that are connected to Canada by the polar ice cap.
