Q&A: What are the best day tours to take in Alaska?

Question by Raineenyte: What are the best day tours to take in Alaska?
There will be 4 adults and a child who will be 4 years old. We want to travel beginning to mid September of next year. What is the best day tour of Denali National Park? What is the best cruise for Kenai Fjords National Park? And how can I get a really good deal? Does anyone know about the Alaska toursaver? Any suggestions or tips will be much appreciated….

I would recommend Royal Caribbean or Carnival for a cruise. With a cruise, you can catch some great tours when you go to the different cities of Alaska. Check with vacationstogo.com This site will tell you everything you want to know from the number of cabins on the ship, to the weather at each port that the ship stops, to the tours that are available.

  1. We had a great day tour with the glacier tour out of Seward. I would highly NOT recommend a commercial cruise because you won’t really see Alaska. They stop at cheezy tourist points (which aren’t real Alaskan towns) and you buy totem poles that were made in China.

Other good locations are Denali (just go to the many Denali tour web sites to look for a good day trip), the many wildlife refuges (these are great because you can get really close to the animals), Eagle River if you like bald eagles, and I know there’s a place that you can get really close to grizzlies, but you’ll have to Google it.

Oh! And if you can get to Fairbanks for the day, you can go to the natural hot springs.

As for good deals, you’ll get them all online. Good luck!
