Q&A: What’s the best travel agent for an alaska cruise?

Question by William B: What’s the best travel agent for an alaska cruise?
Want to go on alaska cruise. Someone said we should use a travel agent. Can anyone recommend the best travel agent for an alaska cruise? Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by RzrLens
Try The Cruise Line Ltd. I have used them twice now and I love them. They are an online travel agent but they will beat any price you find, so shop around first and then book with them. You’ll get one on one service over the phone, and they are very knowledgeable. Their website is listed below. I’ve also listed several sites that are good for checking out prices.

Which Alaska cruise company is the best?

Question by Jason K: Which Alaska cruise company is the best?
Cruising to Alaska this summer, but don’t know which cruise line yet.

Best answer:

Answer by rick d
For a 7 day cruise all lines stop at pretty much at the same ports of call. Besides price the only real difference is personal choice.
For a cruise tour Princess is #1 by the Travel Channel. I have just returned from my 26th cruise tour there. I have sailed with 3 different lines Holland, Norwegian & Princess and had a great time on each. Find a line that offers what you are looking for. Which ever line Alaska is well worth the time to go see.
Enjoy.

What is the best way to get to Glacier Bay National Park?

Question by That one guy.: What is the best way to get to Glacier Bay National Park?
I’m planning a road trip this summer from northern California up to Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska. However, I’m having trouble figuring out a good way to get into the national park without chartering a private boat or a plane, which might be a little bit out of our budget. I’d like to drive to a point that allows us to spend the least amount of time traveling on the marine highway or by plane. Can someone with more experience with this give me an idea of how to go about doing this?

Best answer:

Answer by AKpilot
Haines is as close as you’re going to get by car. Beyond that, there are no roads, like much of the state. If you just want to see the park, then a flightseeing trip would be the best option. If you plan on hiking around in the park or backpacking, you’ll need to find a boat to take you there and pick you up. Either way it’s a fairly expensive proposition. Due to its relative inaccessibility, most people visit it via cruise ship.

I am considering an Alaska cruise for next summer and I was wondering which sights can’t be missed…the Gulf of Alaska? Hubbard Glacier? Inside Passage? Tracy Arm Fjord?

Definitely the Inside Passage to see the glaciers. I loved Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and for a little Russian flavor Sitka. Good luck, no matter where you go it will be beautiful and an experience of a lifetime. I am so jealous

There will be about 7 people going. I know there are a lot of options out there. I am interested in a sea/land tour too. I want opinions on what is the best Alaska cruise to go on and when. Thanks!

I plan on going next year too. I got a great book from the Alaskan Tourist board. It is so informative! It points out the best places to go, what weather to expect during the months, etc. Go to the state’s website and request the booklet. You will be so happy you have it when planning your vacation.

Which cruise line would be best for an Inside Alaska cruise?

Question by timandrea27103: Which cruise line would be best for an Inside Alaska cruise?
My husband and I are planning our first cruise in May to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We will be departing from Seattle and taking the 7 day inside passage tour to Alaska. I have narrowed it down to Norwegian, Princess, and Holland America because they are the online lines to travel to Glacier Bay. Does anyone have any experience with these lines and can possibly recommend one over the others?

Best answer:

Answer by Parson Brown
I went on the Norwegian Sun. I would recommend it. Food was great and I like the Flexible plan for that. I recommend the Professor on board who gives the daily lectures, I saw his presentation on Captain Cook and the native peoples too. I even saw the Palin family trampoline on the lawn of the Governors’ Mansion!

How to get the best Caribbean or Alaska cruise deal?

Question by zilch: How to get the best Caribbean or Alaska cruise deal?
The Caribbean and Alaska cruise probably are the most attractive to the people. Do you know how to get the best reliable cruise price including from where and when to begin make a reservation?

Best answer:

Answer by The Cruise Ladies
You should contact a few travel agents and get some suggestions. You will want to find an agent that offers guidance and is not aggressive or pushy. When you are booking a cruise it is best to book early. As a Cruise Travel Agency owner, I can tell you that it requires many questions and then some work to get the best cruise for each client. There is no one size fits all. I try to ask questions that will help me suggest what I think is best for the cruiser. I work with my clients from start to finish and answer all their questions. It does not cost more to work with an agent when you are booking a cruise. Cruise lines rely on agents to do the work for them and bring the bookings to them. A good agent should explain any fees they have and any cancellation or penalties you will incur. I offer my guests all the cruise lines and am not pushy or aggressive, I look to build relationships not just a one time sale. Many agents work on the same principal. You will want to check out a few and find the one that suits you

I would recommend Royal Caribbean or Carnival for a cruise. With a cruise, you can catch some great tours when you go to the different cities of Alaska. Check with vacationstogo.com This site will tell you everything you want to know from the number of cabins on the ship, to the weather at each port that the ship stops, to the tours that are available.
