I know you can take along pets… but it says “Pets must remain in a vehicle OR and kennel durning the voyage” Now does that mean the kennel would be allowed in the cabin? Or does the kennel need to be in the car?

Answer by eric the great I wish someone would also answer this question. I want to do it in my RV, but don’t understand how it works. I may just call them to find out. I got a tourism book of the ferry system, but it didn’t really address this.
Question by Kristyn Bacon: How can I find an inexpensive ferry ride from Seattle to Alaska?
I want a straight ride from Seattle to Alaska, no crazy tourist stuff, just transportation. Possible?

Answer by John L The Alaska Marine Highway runs from Bellingham to Ketchikan and other points along the coast and out into the Aleutians. It’s run by the state, not fancy but it does the job.
Bellingham to Juneau is 6 one way. Since it takes about two days, you might want to pay for a roomette. There are occasional specials. See the web site below for details.
To get from Seattle to Bellingham you can take the bus or the train.
